Vinings, GA
Majspa runs an Alma Soprano Titanium, a triple-wavelength laser cleared for Fitzpatrick skin types I–VI. Sessions start at $60. We are about 20 minutes from The Battery, and the reason to make that drive is below.
You are not short of options in Vinings. There are medspas within five minutes of Vinings Jubilee, more around Cumberland. So the honest question is not whether we are convenient — we are not the closest thing to you — but whether there is a reason to drive past them.
There is exactly one reason worth the drive, and it only applies to some people: the laser.
A lot of hair removal machines fire a single wavelength, usually 755 nm alexandrite. Surface melanin absorbs 755 nm readily. On lighter skin that is fine. On darker skin it means the energy heats the skin rather than the follicle, which is why people with Fitzpatrick V and VI skin are so often told they are not a candidate.
The Soprano Titanium fires 755 nm alexandrite, 810 nm diode and 1064 nm Nd:YAG simultaneously, and the balance between them is dialed to your Fitzpatrick type. On darker skin the weighting shifts toward 1064 nm, which surface melanin barely absorbs, so the energy reaches the follicle instead of the skin around it. That is the whole mechanism, and it is why one platform covers I through VI.
The second effect is about results rather than safety. Follicle depth varies across any patch of skin, by body area and by growth phase. One wavelength treats one depth well. Three treat shallow, mid and deep in the same pass, so more of what is actually present gets an effective dose per session.
If you have light skin and fine hair, plenty of clinics closer to you can treat you competently, and we would rather say so. The drive is worth it if you have been turned away, or if a course somewhere else stalled without explaining why.
About 20 minutes up from The Battery via Cumberland Parkway and Johnson Ferry Road. Free on-site parking at 1401 Johnson Ferry Rd, Suite 100A — no deck, no validation, which is not nothing if you have been parking around Cumberland.
We are open Tuesday to Friday 9am–5pm and Saturday 9am–3pm.
Usually it was true of that clinic's device rather than of your skin. Single-wavelength alexandrite systems are genuinely unsafe on Fitzpatrick V and VI. The Soprano Titanium is cleared for I through VI because its 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelength is barely absorbed by surface melanin. Bring what you were told to consultation.
For most people with lighter skin and fine hair, you should not have to. The reason to drive is the laser: if you have darker skin, or a previous course stalled, the triple-wavelength platform is doing something a single-wavelength machine cannot.
About 20 minutes via Cumberland Parkway and Johnson Ferry Road. Free on-site parking at 1401 Johnson Ferry Rd, Suite 100A, so no deck and no validation.
Most areas need a series of six, four to six weeks apart, because only follicles in the active growth phase respond to any single session. The series is discounted.
